This week, I start with a few words on the Supreme Court oral arguments in the 14th Amendment-Trump-ballot case. Then I dive into this week's topic: Are Women and Black People "people" under the 14th Amendment? (You wouldn't think this would be difficult.)
I recently saw Akhil Reed Amar on Chris Hayes and thoroughly enjoyed his commentary. I dug out his primer on the Bill of Rights and it also contains in addition, just the 14th Amendment. Highly recommend it AND his amicus brief. He states that no state could violate the political rights of citizens or the natural rights of persons.
I hope your new book (aimed at 9th graders) on the Bill of Rights is required reading in every HS in this country! And adults should read it just on general principle;

Thanks Teri. So clearly informative.
