One more mailing because I have finished the series now.
The parts are linked. I added a few sections. I added a bit about the latest invented narrative (the drama of the timing of the Trump trials), revamped the conclusion, and made small tinkers throughout.
For years I was perplexed by what I saw on social media. I had the sense that social media dynamics were causing pro-democracy people to act like authoritarians.
Then in November, I started reading the work of communications scholars and light bulbs came on.
I wrote a five-part series.
In November, I thought I was finished, but I wasn't. There were still things I didn't understand.
Writers often write to understand, so I kept reading, thinking, and writing.
I added parts 6 and 7, made changes throughout, and revamped the conclusion.
I expect I will annoy a lot of people, but I had to write this.
